The Brazilian Journal of Sports Medicine and Movement Sciences (BJSMMS) operates under an open-access model, ensuring editorial sustainability and full cost transparency, with no impact on the integrity of its double-blind peer-review process ​.

1. Fee Amount
A one-time publication fee of BRL 150.00 applies solely to manuscripts approved after completion of editorial and peer review ​.
A reduced rate of BRL 110.00 is offered to authors affiliated with partner institutions (universities, academic centers, scientific societies or recognized university presses) ​.

2. Allocation of Funds
Collected fees cover: article formatting and standardization; DOI registration; digital preservation (LOCKSS, PKP PN); OJS platform maintenance; and editorial-technical support ​.

3. Payment Terms
Fees must be paid via Pix within seven days of formal acceptance, with proof of payment submitted to the Editorial Office. Manuscripts proceed to final editing and publication only after payment confirmation ​.

4. Waivers and Discounts
Authors in vulnerable situations—such as unfunded students, researchers from low-income countries or public institutions without publication budgets—may request full or partial waivers. Requests must be justified at the time of acceptance, prior to payment processing ​.

5. Open Access & Transparency
All published articles are open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY). BJSMMS guarantees full transparency regarding fees, waivers and charging criteria, with no hidden costs or review-process conditions ​.
