The Brazilian Journal of Sports Medicine and Movement Sciences (BJSMMS) implements robust digital archiving and preservation procedures to ensure continuous access, integrity, and authenticity of all published content. Electronic journal files are stored in multiple long-term preservation platforms, including the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), providing geographic redundancy and resilience against technological failures ​.

Metadata and full-text documents are maintained in PDF/A and XML formats within certified repositories, with regular backups and integrity checks via checksums. The retention policy adheres to international standards, guaranteeing indefinite preservation and periodic format migration to prevent technological obsolescence.

Access to archived content is granted to readers, authors and partner institutions at no additional cost, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring free reading, downloading and redistribution with proper attribution.
